The draught dog on the picture is of Belgian Mastiff breed (Matin Belge) which were very popular in Belgium for pulling small carts. The dogs were also also used in the army to pull all kind of military equipment as wheeled machineguns or small wheeled canons or mortars. Today is the breed unfortunately extinct and it is known to have disappeared after the first world war. Museum item 11,5 x 9,5 Inches. Weight of photo 59 grams.
