Antique, Original Cabinet Card circa the late 1800’s or the early 1900’s featuring a large group of women, old and young, standing outside of a house. While they are not identified, we have found that this print was most likely produced by Morehouse Central Studios in Gibsonburg, OH. There are many interesting features of this particular print, one being that the house in the background has electrical wires hanging from the front. This allows us to estimate the print was produced some time between the later half of the 1880’s and the early part of the 1920’s, as electricity was becoming more widespread across America. Another feature to note is the inclusion of a woman in the bottom left section of the print holding some sort of cart. While we are not able to put our fingers on exactly what this is, we believe it may be some kind of mobility aid. Whether that be an early wheelchair or a dogcart, there is no way for us to tell; however, it is a very interesting addition to the print.
