The case was made of gutta percha. The front and back of the case features a very ornate design. A man and woman tintype photographs framed with a gold foil frame and covered with glass. The tintype shows a man in a suit and bowtie and a woman in a dress. Around both pictures in the gold foil it says, “ARMY 1776″ on left side and “NAVY 1861″ on the right side at the bottom. At the top left corner is a soldier holding a flag and a sword in the other hand. On the right top corner is a Navy man standing beside an anchor holding a flag. This very hard to find Army Navy case would make a great addition to any antique photograph or gutta percha case collection! Overall in very good condition.
