Rare Hand Tinted Frank Davey Architectural Photograph Menlo Park California +
Rare Hand Colored Frank Davey Architectural 8×9.5 Photograph of a Melo Park California Mansion and an earlier cabinet card photograph of the same home. Menlo Park, California history. Frank Davey was a noted Palo Alto California photographer. Best known for his before and after pictures of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and Stanford University Campus photos. This photograph is of a beautiful California home covered in ivy. Floral landscaping compliments the architecture. Writing identifies the home as “The Linden”. Signed the Property of Mrs. Beach Thompson, a Menlo Park resident was an accomplished engineer. He was the first to propose steel towers for electric lines. Perhaps this was the Thompson’s home. The second cabinet card photograph is of the same home at an earlier date. The people remain unidentified but dress affluently. These are exceptional photographs suitable for framing and display. One small perforation on the Davy photograph. The photo is loosely attached to the paper backing. The backing shows some wear. One of many Historical California architectural antique photographs I will be listing in the coming days and weeks. See photos for details. The photo with backing measures approximately 12.5×14. The photo is 7.5×9.5. The cabinet card is approximately 6×10.
