This offering is for a large format antique mounted photograph of a circa 1900 to 1910’s football team. There are 13 players in the image which is marked in the negative by the photographer R. HANSFORD KANSAS CITY KANSAS. There is also a 1960’s collectors label on the back which reads in part OTTO P. HIGGINS KANSAS CITY 3 MISSOURI. The image gives a great up close view of the different types of uniforms in use at the time. I particularly love the guy wearing the full lace up uniform with a black sweater that has heavily padded shoulders. Also please note the fellow in the back wearing the white letterman sweater with a large K on the front. Lastly note the dog ear style helmets laying on the ground at the left rear. The image quality is outstanding with a great focus and beautiful contrast. The photo measures app. 11″ X 14″ including the mount, the sight size is app. 7.5″ X 9.5″ The condition is very nice with wear to the edges of the mount and some surface soiling visible when held to the light at an angle but no rips, tears or repairs.
