1890's CABINET PHOTO With AD SIGNS & CROWDED STANDS FOR A BULL FIGHT
Original 1890’s sepia albumen cabinet photo showing assorted advertising signs & crowded stands for a bull fight. All of the attendees in the stands are dressed up in their finery. A row of women wearing fancy lace outfits & mantillas sit in the front row center over a sign lettered B. The sign has an oval scene painted at each end. But, we cannot figure out what is in the scene. Men wearing sombreros who would have prepared the bulls are standing in the stalls in front of the stands. No bulls or matadors are visible in the photo. This photo was found a number of years ago in Denver, Colorado. All of the wording on the ad signs is in Spanish so this photo was either taken in Mexico or some other Spanish speaking country. This cabinet photo measures 6 1/2 inches long by 4 5/16 inches wide. There are some chips missing off of the matt at the right edge & a few bumps & wear at the left edge of the matt. The matt has some stains which are mostly visible on the back. This item is inventory #5609. Is an estimate and the actual cost may differ. International Buyers – Please Note.
