DETAILS: Original gelatin silver photograph of a group of men atop horses on a mountain top in Wyoming. We believe they are soldiers and scouts from Fort Fetterman. Its hard to make out, but if you look closely you can see that some of the men appear to be wearing maxing some kind of matching uniforms soldiers? In the far background further up the hill you can make out other riders and wagons. Again, if you look closely you can also see what appears to be flags flying atop the caravan which is indicative of some kind of military presence. Measures 6″ x 4″ inches. BACKGROUND: This photo came with from a collection of 1880 Wyoming photos taken around the Crazy Woman Creek area. The area was notorious for lawlessness, robbers and bad cowboys during this time.
