This offering is for an antique 19th century gutta percha or thermoplastic lid collar box. The design on the lid of the box is of a four aces playing card spread. Each corner also features one of the four suits. The box itself is made of maple. The bottom of the box is stamped by the maker and reads “SCOVILL MFG CO 8-28-1877″ with a paper label partially obscuring part of the stamping. The condition is excellent with minor wear to the surface but no cracks, breaks or repairs.
