Antique 19th century, c1850s, original sixth plate daguerreotype photograph depicting a handsome gentleman with piercing eyes in a period suit, vest and neckerchief. He looks like a politician or man of notoriety. Protected behind glass in a brass mat and preserver and housed in a pressed paper case. Estate fresh from an Athol, Massachusetts estate. In Good/As Found overall condition. Clean with no wipe marks. Shows some gentle brown spots and tarnish ring. Case is split at the hinge. Measures 3 1/4″ x 2 3/4″.
