Here we have an exceptional & very unique, late 1800’s era BLACK STARR & FROST LARGE REPOUSSE STERLING SILVER PICTURE FRAME that was acquired out of a wonderful Detroit Michigan suburb estate. Signed BLACK STARR & FROST as well as STERLING 1779 and 17 in. Absolutely beautiful with full figural repousse Cherubs and birds. It measures a total of 18 inches tall by 14 1/4 inches wide. The viewing area for the photograph is approximately 10 by 8 1/2. It could also be made into a really nice dresser mirror as well I would imagine. Without a doubt the nicest example we have ever seen. This would make a wonderful Wedding gift to place a Wedding Photo in. The over all condition appears to be pretty decent with some expected signs of wear etc. It could certainly use a gentle cleaning & polishing if desired. It has never been monogrammed up at the top crest area. I can’t imagine you could easily “if ever” find a nicer example than this one here. The new owner is to pay 35.
