A framed needlepoint image of a Rooster at sunrise. This is a very striking, colourful piece which is Art Deco in style. The piece may have been completed later in the 1950’s as it has a Mid-Century feel. Framed but no hanging hooks on the reverse. The label to the reverse is from Camberwell Gallery in SE London. The person who completed the needlepoint may have had their piece framed or it may have been retailed by the Gallery. Identifying Marks / Makers Marks. Gallery label to the reverse. Age / date of manufacture. Art Deco in style but may have been produced later. Frame measures 19 1/4″ (just under 49 cm) by 15 1/2″ (just under 39.5 cm). Image measures 18″ (45.75 cm) by 14 1/4″ (36.25 cm). I have not taken this out of the frame but the textile appears to be in good condition without damage. There is some dust caught between the glass and the textile on the right hand edge of the image, in the sky, this has not stained but is trapped. The frame is intact but has lots of scuffs and scratches on the gold finish. I have tried to photograph this is as best I can but there is some reflection from the glass.
