Gorgeous Rare Large French Antique/Vintage early 1900’s / Flapper Era Boudoir Photo Frame! This Beauty is made of a heavy cardboard, covered in pink silk, overlayed with an array of gold metallic lace trims/braids with silk ribbon/ribbonwork & leaves and rococo rosette trimming. This is a large one measuring 11″ tall by 9 1/4″ wide with the photo opening being 6″ by 4 1/4″. The back has a table stand which sadly is loose, it will stand alone but not as it should, it does look like a bit of glue to the trim and back would help it with standing completely upright as it should, of course it can always be leaned up against something else. There is an opening in the back to insert your photo which would hide the loss of pink silk you see behind the glass from the front. This gorgeous piece is in wonderful condition considering its age, especially since it is made of silk, with the front silk still in tact, with a couple of small minute losses behind a couple of bullion strands that are a wee loose, and a few other minute places within the metallic trims. There are also a couple of metallic trims that are a wee loose. The metallic laces and rococo ribbon trim is in great shape but the ribbonwork roses accents at the top and bottom of the photo have deterioration and splitting. Sadly the silk on the back has deteriorated away and the silk on the back stand is in the process of deteriorating.
